Fanny Macé is an assistant-professor and researcher at Concordia University. She specializes in French as a second and additional language (FL2+) applied linguistics and language assessment. Her work examines how locally situated, learning-oriented, and alternative assessment practices can support multilingual learners’ linguistic development, agency, participation, and sense of belonging within linguistically and culturally diverse educational contexts.
Her research interests also include lexical competence, digital and AI-supported pedagogies, critical literacy, learner and educator well-being, and participatory and research-creation methodologies. Grounded in the sociolinguistic realities of Montréal and Canadian Francophone minority-language settings, her work brings together research, teaching, and community engagement to develop more inclusive, sustainable, and human-centred approaches to language education and assessment.
